Gender equality should mean legitimate emotional empowerment for everyone. Not simply calling one set of feelings feminine and another masculine, but acknowledging that everyone can feel a wide variety of things and we don’t necessarily have control over them. Don’t feel guilty about it.

ps, blogrolled. 😀

Awww. Unrequited love really is the pits. But I agree with popularheresy, above.

“I am a feminist. I am not supposed to have emotions.”

Who ever claimed feminists weren’t supposed to have emotions. ALL people have emotions. There’s nothing wrong with that. There IS something wrong with assigning certain emotions to the “girly” category (which, as you should recognize, it usually considered weak or undesirable) and others to the “manly” category. Humans simply don’t work that way. Feminism aims to expose that truth.

I didn’t get to read it, but I agree with SarahMC (as usual, she’s cool) about that quote. I don’t think you actually believe that feminists aren’t supposed to have emotions though. Hope not anyway.
